Beth's Team in Training Triathlon Update!
Hello to my friends and family! I have been involved for over a year with the Leukemia & Lymphoma society's Team in Training program, since last spring when I started running, and last fall when I completed my first 26.2 mile marathon! Since then I have completed a second marathon, and I am now training for my first Olympic Distance Triathlon - 1,500 meter open water swim, 25 mile bike ride, and 6.2 mile run! Target date is September 14. Read my diary for an update of how the training is going!
I am also training and competing in honor of our honored heroes - big and little people who are battling leukemia every day. My honored heroes are Cooper, Kaitlyn, Zach, Maura, and Colbi. One of our teammates is also an honored hero - Nitia, who is a Hodgkins survivor. I am also training and competing in honor and memory of Lea, my honored hero for my first race; and Jim, the husband of a dear friend of mine who both lost their battles this year with leukemia. I think of all my heroes when training gets hard, because they have gone through much more. This is the least I can do! Please keep checking back for updates! Thank you in advance for all of your support, cheerleading, donations, and mostly for being on MY team, too! You are my hero!
